Day 9- Chris Rock

Happy Labor Day, everyone!

Hope you are all enjoying your cookouts and BBQs today. I am going out with my family for lunch/dinner in just a little bit (Cantina Laredo– it’s amazing!).

I sent a message via Facebook to actor/comedian Chris Rock. You may know him from such hilarious flicks as “Head of State” and “Down to Earth.” His wife, Malaak, was featured in the CNN series “Black in America: 2,” hosted by Soledad O’Brien, for her efforts with the Journey for Change Program, which takes underprivileged kids teens from Brooklyn to South Africa to participate in service projects for the even less fortunate. (It’s an incredible documentary!)

Both he and his wife spoke at the opening of the renovated Salvation Army Bushwick Community Center in Brooklyn.

Originally from Brooklyn himself, Rock is known for his trademark voice, with which he narrated the show he produced, “Everybody Hates Chris.”

Now a big-time comic celebrity, Rock's roots are pretty "Down to Earth."

Well, my stomach is grumbling– I think it’s insulting me. So, I’m gonna check the status of our dinner outing, and I’ll be talking to you tomorrow if not sooner!

Hi! I just found your bog, and I have been following you on twitter! You should check out John Mellencamp….I believe I heard that he has SB….so maybe you should check that out!!

      Hi Kristan!

Thanks so much for the tip. I appreciate it. I believe I DID hear a long time ago something along the lines of Mellencamp having SB. I’ll have to find a way to get in touch with him. I don’t think he has a direct E-mail address, because I went to his Web site a few days ago and didn’t find an address that could be linked directly to him.

Thanks again, and please continue to spread the word!
