This probably seemed like an obvious contact, but I would like to write to Insights, the official quarterly publication of the national Spina Bifida Association. It’s about time that news of this blog got published by them, so I want to make sure that happens!
Insights has recently undergone a makeover that makes it look more like a glossy magazine you would expect to find at a newsstand than a newsletter distributed by a non-profit organization. Hopefully, this change will also include better opportunities for people like those of us with spina bifida to speak up on our own behalf.
And yes…tomorrow is Valentine’s Day. Whoop-dee-do. No, seriously, I hope you all enjoy tomorrow and find someone, be it a friend, family member or significant other, to celebrate this day of love and friendship. I should probably take advantage of this commercialized holiday to stuff my face with chocolate, as this upcoming week marks the beginning of the Lenten season for Catholics.
And so, on both of those notes, I shall leave you with words that will hopefully remind us all of what love really means:
“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. 8 Love never fails.”
-1 Corinthians 13:1-13
May God Bless you all with the love you are seeking,
Laura ♥
