If there’s anything I enjoy about as much as a musical, it has to be a comedy of errors. Actor Anthony LaPaglia was brilliant in Broadway’s revival of Ken Ludwig’s “Lend Me a Tenor.” He played an Italian opera star who is mistaken as being dead by the company’s manager (due to an overdose of tranquilizers).
LaPaglia actually spends much of the play’s running time lying “unconscious” on a bed onstage, perhaps one of the best and most…er…restrained performances I have ever watched.
Although I did not get to have my picture taken with him, you’ll have to take my word for it that I did, in fact, get his autograph on my playbill!

Mr. LaPaglia is best known for his role as an FBI agent on the series “Without a Trace.” What he is less known for, regrettably, is his good deeds. He is an avid supporter of the Young Storytellers Foundation, a non-profit that encourages the development of literacy in elementary school students.
A former goalkeeper for the National Soccer League in Australia, LaPaglia played in a charity “football” match to raise funds for Southern California wildfire relief.
