  5. I was looking for videos about cataract surgery when I then looked up information on another surgery – spina bifida. I was born during a time 12% of SB children survived. I was the fifth child of a 36 year old mother born soon after WWII. I was operated on for spina bifida at age three. Although I appeared “normal” I attended a primary school for the handicapped because of bladder control issues and a regular high school. At age 21 I had Illiac Conduit surgery which changed my life. I got a degree in Medial Technology, worked for 40 years, married, had three children and three grandchildren. After a surgery for a tethered cord because I was losing function – I lost function. I now help my kids, make quilts for Alzheimer’s Art Quilt Initiative and blankets for Project Linus I make anywhere from a nine foot at the shoulder giraffe for my daughter’s classroom to decorating a dollhouse for my granddaughter. Anyway, if you would look into fundraising you might look into some project where people would donate homemade items to be auctioned or sold. I think doll clothes for 18 inch dolls would work. There are many free patterns. Anyway I am enjoying your videos.
